Melaque is a small town located only 2 miles N.West of Barra de Navidad, but seems to have more of a "Mexican" feel as Mexican tourists flock to the beach every weekends from the inland cities, and it becomes the places to be during the week of Semana Santa. Fishing Melaque often will be the beach lined with fisherman trying there surf fishing skills and pulling in everything from jacks, to snook and rooster fish from the shorelines, along with tons of bait fish. Great spot to relax and try your own surf fishing skills.
