It struck me just the other day that technology that we seem to have just discovered to provide us with alternative and renewable energy has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years.  The use of wind energy from windmills goes back to at least 200 BC and the use of wind turbines to produce electricity is at least 100 years old.   It all just makes me wonder why so little time and resources have been applied to developing a source of energy that replenishes itself.  Putting short term profits over long term prosperity is not exactly the smartest choice for humanity.
