Which equipment needs to be pat tested within business premises?  Essentially, those electrical appliances that can be considered portable and plug into the supply via a normal three pin plug are the items that need pat testing. Electrical appliances such as desk lamps, heaters and fans as well as computers and fax machines are all examples of these items. All those items need pat testing as they are all Portable Appliances which use a plug and electrical supply system. The electrical appliances given here as examples are low risk and shouldn’t ever become dangerous as long as there is a regular inspection and monitoring programme undertaken by staff.
