When I lost my job as an accountant due to downsizing, I went to the human resources office and asked what I should expect and what to do next. The representative was very kind and helpful, and she told me how long that I would continue to qualify for medical benefits. She also told me about a site that could give me some pointers on how to file for unemployment. I looked up the site when I got home, and started the process of filing. It was easier than I thought it would be, and it’s reassuring to know that I can still cover my mortgage while I’m looking for a job.
