The kitchen with its dining table and chairs was originally separated from the living room by a wall with a square opening connecting the two areas. The dining area had to be practical but stylish in order to cope with the needs of a growing family. The living room needed to feel like home yet still pack a punch for the purposes of entertaining friends and business associates. The kitchen had to satisfy the requirements of an enthusiastic interior design living room and demanding gourmand. The brief was to redesign the living room and the kitchen dining room of this large flat in Pimlico.
