Most weight lifters believe that ab workouts are only to make the abs more attractive for appearance purposes. However, this isn’t true and to prove that, take a look at the squat exercise. With strong abs, a weight lifter will lift more in the squats than if their abs were weaker. Why? In the squat, the abs are used to do a number of things that helps lift the weight with proper technique. First, the abs help balance the weight so you don’t fall. Second, the abs help give the legs additional power. Finally, the abs help you breath easier while lifting which is important to any exercise.
