I had the pleasure of rafting the Colorado

October 27th, 2009 by admin

Last year, I had the pleasure of taking a trip to whitewater raft the Colorado. I wasn’t really looking forward to it because I imagined a calm river that we would just float down without any kind of fun whatsoever. I was reluctant to go for this reason.

When I arrived at the river however, I was met with an entirely different experience than I had imagined. The river had its calm sections, but there were also some terribly exhilarating sections that threw me for a loop. After conquering some of those huge rapids, my opinion of Colorado white water rafting was altered forever.

Northern Peru: The Chimu

October 7th, 2009 by admin

The main concern of the Chimu in the Northern Peru was agriculture. They had already known how to build irrigation canals and even inter-valley canals. They built canals to irrigate land from the Chicama River in the north to the land near Chan Chan in the Moche Valley. This area from prehispanic times is even larger than the area that is cultivated at this time. The site of Chan Chan has walls that are up to 26 feet tall that enclosed the eleven citadels. The palaces form the majority of the monumental architecture at this site. The Huaca Obispo is the largest stepped pyramid, and that lies in the north of the city. Each palace is laid out in similar styles and are characterized by these three structures: U-shaped audiencias, wells and storerooms. The audiencias are all in different sizes and are assumed to be the administrative offices of the Chimu leaders. They are decorated with clay friezes that show shellfish, marine birds and fish.

Trade In Your Old Stroller For a New One

October 4th, 2009 by admin

Do you own an old stroller and you would like to trade up. Well, if you do then Babies R Us has a great deal right now. From Aug. 28 through Sept. 20th you can trade in your old baby travel strollers and get a new one for 30% off. This is a really good deal. Especially when I looked online I found that Babies R Us has some really nice strollers for affordable prices without the trade in. I have never heard of a deal like this and it is only for a limited time but it seems like it would be worth it to me.

Vacation Rentals Near 42nd Street

October 3rd, 2009 by admin

If I could take a year off of my job and my house, then I would spend that year living in Manhattan and going to a different Broadway show every night. When I was growing up my mother would take me to different productions all the time and I really would love to be able to do that again with my kids. As part of that fantasy, I am currently looking up New York vacation rentals where we could spend a week or two near 42nd Street and take in as many shows as we possibly could while we are there.

The Difference Between All Inclusive Resorts And A Hotel

September 30th, 2009 by admin

Staying in a hotel means getting your bed turned down and having a restuarant nearby, maybe in the hotel. There will be maid service each day to refresh your room, bring new towels and making your bed. Everything you want above the cost of your room willl cost you additionally.

With all inclusive resorts, you get your room and anything you desire to eat, drink or keep you busy. Some activities include swimming, scuba diving, golfing and more. Find a all inclusive travel agent to help you book the right destination to Mexico, the Caribbean, or any other location you choose you visit.

My mileage not much better than discount airfare

September 28th, 2009 by admin

My wife and I have a bunch of miles that we’ve accumulated over the past few years flying on one airline. We’ve finally got enough for two free round trips from Canada to Mexico, and in fact the airline is promoting this fall that some trips only require half the mileage usually required. So we go online and schedule the flights and find the “half-off” flights and plug in our names and choose our seats and press the “complete reservation” button. Only to find that they’re charging us thirty-five dollars each just to redeem the milage. Plus 50 dollars each because we’re booking less than 14 days in advance. Plus about $150 each in taxes, fees, and surcharges. I could buy discount airfare for only about $100 more per person. Why did I bother collecting all those miles?
