January blues – getting away from it all

January 31st, 2012 by admin

I don’t think I am the only one who struggles to get motivated in January. Normally I just battle on through the January blues like the rest of the nation. However, this year I felt I needed something else to perk me up. What better way to do that then by not going to work for a while, so I booked a long weekend breaks. I am happy to confirm that this little break worked a treat and  I am much more motivated at work then I was this time last year. It is definitely a tactic I will use next year.

Best Time To Travel To Iguazu Falls

January 23rd, 2012 by admin

Wet season isn’t necessarily the best time to go to Argentina or Brazil to see the Iguazu Falls. At these times of the year, it’s more difficult to travel even though plane fares are usually cheaper. During wet season, which is usually between December and February, weather is cold and dreary and many trails in both sides of the Iguazu Falls are closed because they’re unsafe. Despite all these, it’s still a good idea to see the falls during wet season because it’s more powerful by then. Dry season may be a more comfortable time to travel but there’s a possibility of the falls being completely dry by then.

Finding a Cheap Hotel in Europe

December 9th, 2011 by admin

Cheap hotel, hotels

London has some of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world at an average cost of £113 per night, which means that anything less than the average would be considered as a cheap hotel. If you’re looking to have a break away and you’re on a limited budget then why not look at some of these destinations which last year were voted as the cheapest destination for hotel rooms in Europe.

Riga

The cheapest hotels in Europe can be found in Riga where they cost on average £53 per night. Riga is the capital of Latvia. Stags flock here for the cheap drinks but there is plenty to see in the Old Town area and the beautiful Art Nouveau district.

Vilinus

In 2009, Vilinus was voted as the European Capital of Culture. The city is a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and classical buildings. The cheap drinks mean that it is gaining a reputation as a stag destination. However, there are other reasons that guests visit this scenic city such as the churches, of which Vilinus has more than 40.

Krakow

In Krakow, a hotel room costs on average £67 leaving you with plenty of morning to spend in the local area. The locals name Krakow as city of the joys as there is a lot here to entertain the foreign tourist. Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral is really interesting and the Church of St Basilica is an attraction that you just can’t leave Poland without paying a visit to.

Looking At A Travel Magazine At The Grocery Store

December 6th, 2011 by admin

When I was waiting in the line at the grocery store, last Monday evening, I picked up a travel magazine. As I was flipping through the magazine, I saw several pictures of Kigali hotels. There was also a section, in the magazine, on things to do in Kigali. Since i thought it seemed like an interesting place to visit, I decided I would buy the magazine. I thought my husband, Mark, might also be interested in looking at the pictures.
