My first apartment in Manhattan… I was beyond excited!  I wanted to buy furniture that had form and function but that was also comfortable and stylish.  When I searched online every search led me back to lounge furniture.  The lies and style of all of the different pieces that I came across were exactly what I was looking for.  Nice and comfortable seating and sofas that had unique lines and sway backs.  Very cool.  After looking for a while I realized that finding a style of furniture was half the battle now it was all about picking the actual pieces that worked together and would fit in my space.

December 16th, 2008 - Jacksonville, FL - Christmas celebration was marred by tragedy as a fire caused by a burning candle turned a children’s orphanage into a raging inferno.

“It’s surreal here,” said one 14-year old girl who was hospitalized with burns. “People were running through the halls on fire, screaming.”

Investigators are trying to piece together the cause of the blaze.  

Chief Fire Investigator Ronald Hawking held a press conference early morning to a field of news media.

“The cause of the fire was an unattended candle,” said Hawking.  ”This accident could have been prevented with just an ounce of common sense.”

Creators of electric candle warmers were quick to donate gifts to everyone who attended the candlelight vigil which was held last night at midnight at the still-burning location of the once thriving orphanage.

“If everyone switched to flameless candles, we wouldn’t have to make these calls.”

I really enjoy watching my wife - or my daughters- do a needlework project. Whether it’s knitting, or crochet, or needlepoint, or crochet, or even working on a quilt, it’s almost as relaxing to watch someone do it as it is to do it yourself.

Plus, it’s really great watching a scarf or quilt take shape. The intricate needlework involved, and the amazing designs that can be created by a talented crafter, are truly a sight to behold. As my daughters were learning to knit and crochet, I was fascinated by the techniques they were learning, and the focus and concentration required. It really impressed me.
