I never did understand the reasoning for those stiff, hard on the butt, touch on the back church pews that I had to endure growing up. Half the time my little legs would fall asleep, and then when it was time to stand and sing, I’d just about fall over on my tingly backside. What a joy it was to discover a new church when we moved to a new city that had a new idea in church pews: COMFORT! They actually padded the seats AND the backs, and now I can relax and actually enjoy the sermon and music like never before.

Another one of the most important attributes ascribed to the greatest actors and actresses is perseverance. Great performances are usually the product of endless rehearsals whose point is the achievement of perfection. This can only be obtained through perseverance. This is of course easier said than done as will be made very clear in the courses offered at the San Diego Acting Schools. Repeating the same scene over and over again can be tiresome and soon tempers will fray. The true professional is able to deal with this frustration in a productive manner and move forward to attain the perfection the director is striving for.

Recently I’ve started to wonder about candle making. I love to buy beautiful beeswax candles but I wonder if I could save a lot of money just make beeswax candles myself. It doesn’t seem that hard to do and I imagine there are a lot of online resources to tell me the necessary steps. The materials probably cost less than buying the candles already made. And I’m sure you could buy them in bulk and make dozens for what one may cost in a specialty store. I’m going to start this project soon for sure. It just sounds like lots of fun and a great hobby to start!

During a game of chess, it’s easy to get excited. Because chess is like that. Even though people generally think one should remain calm and composed during a game of chess, and make thoughtful and logical decisions, one is always prone to getting excited, because the game induces that very emotion. However, if you are playing chess, do try and control yourself somewhat, otherwise you are liable to make mistakes and make stupid moves which you will regret later. People also say that being in love helps you play a better game of chess because adrenaline constantly is shooting through your veins. During a Mexican wedding, the couple would also be tied together quite literally by the priest, who, after the exchange of vows, would wrap a very large rosary around them at their shoulders, waists, or wrists in a figure of eight looping. Alternates to a rosary for this purpose could be a string of flowers, ribbons, wooden rings, or gold bands for more wealthy families. Then after the wedding, guns would be fired into the air in true Mexican style, before a wedding feast was held. The first dance at this celebratory banquet was often the romantic tradition of everybody linking hands and surrounding the newlyweds to form a heart shaped design. At the end of the party, another tradition sometimes observed, was the mock recapture of the bride by her family, who would only allow her back to the groom after he made promises about helping them in the future.
