The word hybrid in the car industry means that a hybrid car is one that uses two power sources in order to run the vehicle. They use a gas source and an electrical source. The same is true for the plug in hybrid electric vehicle but it depends a lot less on the gas than does the regular hybrid and some of these vehicles don’t even use gas at all. The vehicle has batteries that give the car an all electric operation. The owner of the vehicle can plug in the car to a power source and the power that it takes to recharge the vehicle is less than one quarter of the cost of a gallon of gas.
