I was at a mud volleyball tournament for charity last month. There was lots of mud & drinking and also a silent auction for some really cool things. They had a Wireless Credit Card Processing station set up over in the corner of the tent so that the people who won their bids on the items at the auction could pay for them right away. Because of the mud and playing volleyball, not a lot of people were carrying cash on them.  Most of the food & drink was free so there was not really a need. The cash would get really soggy after a while of playing in the mud.
