Hybrid cars: Are They Worth The Gas Savings?

June 28th, 2008 by admin

Hybrid cars are currently being sold by car manufacturers like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Ford to help the planet from global warming and rescue car owners from the clutches of rising fuel prices. Many car experts however believe that despite huge gas savings hybrid cars may not be such a great deal for car owners as manufacturers claim them to be. In their opinion, hybrid or "green" cars cost more to buy and insure and also depreciate faster as compared to other conventional cars. However, proud owners of Toyota Prius and Honda Civic beg to differ saying these cars are the perfect choice for car aficionados and help in gas saving as well.

Free Virus Protection Is Still Good

June 28th, 2008 by admin

I have a computer. I spend a lot of time checking emails on the internet. I use one of those free virus protection downloads to protect myself from harmful viruses. I fell victim a few years ago and when I discovered that had I had ANY virus protection software on my computer, it would have prompted me when i tried to download that file attachment that hosed my system. I learned my lesson then. My free program scans whenever I download anything to my computer. I also set it to scan every night at three in the morning. It has prevented a lot of viruses.

My Daughter in the Big City

June 28th, 2008 by admin

My daughter was going away to college for her first year in New York and she was going to be out of state for the first time in her life. This was the first time she would ever be in a large city and I have always heard about how dangerous big city life can be. Maybe it’s the movies I watch or the news I see on TV, but I was very concerned about my daughter’s safety. The college was a very good college, but I knew I would worry about her so. I looked for a company that sells stun tasers and bought one for her and gave it to her. Now I have a peace of mind because at least now she can protect herself.

Block spam e-mails

June 27th, 2008 by admin

When you want to Block spam e-mails their are several ways to do this. If you use the email program’s spaminator or whatever they call it with your particular email program or site, then generally it will look for certain algorithms in the email and try to determine what is spam and what is not. Although alot of the time they get it right sometimes important email gets lost in the spam filter. You can fix this by rendering that mail on a white list. Spam mail seems to get through somehow anyway but the spam filters are starting to get better.

Believe it – water can power cars

June 27th, 2008 by admin

You may have thought of it as some sci fi but it is a reality. Water cars are now available. They will now serve as a relief to the high cost of gasoline prices that many motorists are complaining about. A water car is simply as the name sounds – a car that runs on water. You will fill your tank with water and then off you go.

The principle behind a water car is that of electrolysis, the ability to draw gases from water after applying an electric current. In the case of the water car, the extracted gas is hydrogen which is as combustible as gasoline. Drivers who run their cars on water will experience a cleaner engine and more miles for their money. You may want to run your car on water.

Don’t Forget the Swimming Pool Supplies

June 27th, 2008 by admin

With all of the time and energy that goes into installing a pool in your backyard, it can be easy to forget the swimming pool supplies that are needed before you can even dive in. Some people are under the assumption that once the hole is dug into the ground and it is filled up with water that you can simply jump right in and enjoy the pool immediately. This train of thought is neglecting all of the swimming pool supplies that are needed to maintain the pool and keep it safe for the people who will be using the pool.

Ghost Hunters and Lisheen Castle Haunted Ruins

June 27th, 2008 by admin

There have been several ghost hunters visit the Lisheen Castle Haunted Ruins. They have found many different things during their visit that could be con-strewed as a haunting. These investigators have checked out several areas of the ruins. One such area was the Viaduct Tavern which is a bar that was built over what use to be the debtor’s prison. At one screening, one of the ghost hunters had asked if there was anyone there and if they would give them a sign. They then heard stomping of boots which sounded like they were on wooden floors though is no wood on the ruins at all.
